Upcoming Places API Changes
Please note the legacy V3 endpoints will be deprecated on May 15, 2026. You should migrate to the new Places API.
Our new Places API endpoints, powered by FSQ OS Places, provide more accurate and up-to-date POI data for your projects and location-based features. Also, new endpoints allow you and your users to directly contribute place edits through our APIs, offering greater control over the data that matters most to you.
Pricing Changes
You can learn more about the current Places and Users APIs pricing here.
Beginning June 1, 2026, the following Places API & V2 Pro endpoint rates go into effect for all users:
- 0 - 500 calls – $0.00 CPM
- 501 - 100,000 calls – $15.00 CPM
- 100,001 - 500,000 calls – $12.00 CPM
- 500,001 - 1,000,000 calls – $9.00 CPM
- 1,000,001 - 5,000,000 calls – $4.50 CPM
- 5,000,001+ calls – $1.25 CPM
You will now receive 500 free Pro calls.
V2 endpoints priced at Pro and Premium:
The following endpoints are charged as Premium:
- /v2/venues/X
- /v2/venues/X/photos
- /v2/venues/X/tips
- /v2/venues/X/hours
- /v2/venues/X/menu
- /v2/venues/X/links
- /v2/venues/X/events
- /v2/venues/X/attributes
The following endpoints are charged as Pro:
- /v2/venues/search
- /v2/search/recommendations
- /v2/venues/trending
- /v2/venues/X/related
Any checkins, lists, tastes, tips, and users endpoints will remain free.
