Available Place Review Tasks

Please keep in mind that not every place you review will include all of the task types below. Each place/venue will have tasks specific to our data review needs for freshness and accuracy.

Flagged Tasks

Duplicate Place - The referenced place may be a duplicate of an already existing venue.

  • Make sub-place - When marking a place as a sub-place, it must always be physically located inside the parent venue. Sub-places are just normal places, the only difference being that they are physically inside other places. Typical examples of parent places are shopping malls, schools, train stations, airports, theme parks, multiplexes, zoos, campuses, hospitals, hotels, etc.
  • Don't merge - The referenced place is not a duplicate and represents a different place that the suggested existing one.
  • Merge - The referenced place is a duplicate and is the exact same as the pre-existing place.
  • Not Sure - You are not certain whether or not the referenced place is a duplicate or not and can therefore not correctly provide an edit. By selecting, you skip the flagged task entirely.

Make it as private - The referenced place may be public or private.

  • Flag for other reasons - The referenced place may have other reasons to be flagged for review.

    • Inappropriate

    • Doesn't Exist

    • Is Closed

    • Is a Home

  • Keep public- The referenced place is public, so do not mark as private.

  • Mark as private - The referenced place is private and can be marked as such.

  • Not sure - You are not certain whether or not the referenced place is a private or not and can therefore not correctly provide an edit. By selecting, you skip the flagged task entirely.

Remove place - The referenced place may be open or closed.

  • Flag for other reasons - The referenced place may have other reasons to be flagged for review.

    • Doesn't Exist

    • Is Closed

    • Is a Home

  • Still open - The referenced place is still open and do not remove.

  • Close - The referenced place is closed and can be removed.

Details Tasks

Info tasks include providing the following informational aspects for a place:

  • Name - The business name of the place.
  • Address - The street address of the place.
  • Locality (City) - The city the place is located in.
  • Region (State) - The state the place is located in.
  • Zip - The postal code of the place, or equivalent (zip code in the US). Format will be localized based on country (i.e. 5-digit number for US postal code).
  • Phone - The telephone number of a place with local formatting.
  • URL - The URL to the place’s (or the chain’s) publicly available website.
  • Twitter - The place's Twitter handle, if applicable.
  • Instagram - The place's Instagram handle, if applicable.
  • Faceboook ID - The place's Facebook ID, if applicable.
  • Hours - The hours of the place's operations. The open time and close time are represented by local, 24hr time of the POI (so no need to convert for timezones).
  • Location (Lat/Long) - The location of the place on a map. The latitude and longitude delivered as decimal places (WGS84 datum), where the value does not exceed 6 decimal places.
  • Menu - The URL of the place's menu, if applicable.

Attribute Tasks

Attribute tasks include indicating whether or not the place has the following attributes:

  • Wifi - This attribute denotes whether a place has WiFi. May be "free", "paid", or "none".
  • Reservations - This attribute denotes whether a place offers reservations (yes or no).
  • Outdoor Seating - This attribute denotes whether a place offers outdoor seating (yes or no).
  • Delivery - This attribute denotes whether a place delivers food or drink (yes or no).
  • Credit Cards - This attribute denotes whether a place takes credit cards (yes or no).
  • American Express - This attribute denotes whether a place takes American Express (yes or no).
  • Visa - This attribute denotes whether a place takes Visa (yes or no).
  • Mastercard - This attribute denotes whether a place takes Mastercard (yes or no).
  • Discover - This attribute denotes whether a place takes Discover (yes or no).
  • NFC - This attribute denotes whether a place takes NFC (phone or chipcard) payment (yes or no).
  • Takes Diners Club - This attribute denotes whether a place takes Diners Club (yes or no).
  • Takes Union Pay - This attribute denotes whether a place takes Union Pay (yes or no).
  • Breakfast - This attribute denotes whether a place serves breakfast (yes or no).
  • Brunch - This attribute denotes whether a place serves brunch (yes or no).
  • Lunch - This attribute denotes whether a place serves lunch (yes or no).
  • Dinner - This attribute denotes whether a place serves dinner (yes or no).
  • Happy Hour - This attribute denotes whether a place serves happy hour (yes or no).
  • Dessert - This attribute denotes whether a place serves dessert (yes or no).
  • Takeout - This attribute denotes whether a place supports takeout (yes or no).
  • Beer - This attribute denotes whether a place has beer available (yes or no).
  • Wine - This attribute denotes whether a place has beer available (yes or no).
  • BYO - This attribute denotes whether a place allows for bringing your own beverages (yes or no).
  • Full BarThis attribute denotes whether a place has a full bar available (yes or no).
  • Bar Service - This attribute denotes whether a place has bar service (yes or no).
  • Smoking - This attribute denotes whether a place allow smoking (yes or no).
  • Wheelchair Accessible - This attribute denotes whether a place is wheelchair accessible (yes or no).
  • Street Parking - This attribute denotes whether a place offers street parking (yes or no).
  • Valet Parking - This attribute denotes whether a place offers valet parking (yes or no).
  • Private Lot - This attribute denotes whether a place offers a private parking lot (yes or no).
  • Parking - This attribute denotes whether a place offers parking (yes or no).
  • Public Lot - This attribute denotes whether a place offers a public parking lot (yes or no).
  • Sit Down Dining - This attribute denotes whether a place offers sit down dining (yes or no).
  • Serves Bar Snacks - This attribute denotes whether a place serves bar snacks (yes or no).
  • Serves Tasting Menu - This attribute denotes whether a place serves a tasting menu (yes or no).
  • Cocktails - This attribute denotes whether a place serves cocktails (yes or no).
  • Drive Through - This attribute denotes whether a place offers a drive through (yes or no).
  • Coat Check - This attribute denotes whether a place offers coat check (yes or no).
  • Music - This attribute denotes whether a place offers music (yes or no).
  • Live Music - This attribute denotes whether a place offers live music (yes or no).
  • Jukebox Music - This attribute denotes whether a place offers jukebox music (yes or no).
  • Private Room - This attribute denotes whether a place offers a private room (yes or no).
  • Restroom - This attribute denotes whether a place offers a restroom (yes or no).
  • TVs - This attribute denotes whether a place offers TVs (yes or no).
  • ATM - This attribute denotes whether a place offers an ATM (yes or no).
  • Groups Only Reservations - This attribute denotes whether a place requires reservation for groups (yes or no).
  • Reservations Essential - This attribute denotes whether a place requires reservations for attending (yes or no).
  • Price - This attribute includes a description of the price of a POI's offerings on the following scale: 1 - Cheap, 2 - Moderate, 3 - Expensive, 4 - Very Expensive.

  • Current Chains - The chain currently applied to the place.
  • Add Suggested Chain - The chain being suggested to add to the place.
  • Remove Suggested Chain - The chain being suggested to remove from the place.

  • Current Categories - The categories currently applied to the place.
  • Add Category - The categories being suggested to add to the place.
  • Remove Category - The categories being suggested to remove from the place.
